We discovered the technique of boro — a traditional Japanese patchwork style — when we encountered the work of independent denim makers FDMTL within a small gallery of Paris’s seventh arrondissement. Bridging the age-old technique to the modern cultures of streetwear and workwear (check out their collabs with Dickies), FDMTL has remained true to their obsession with patchwork. On our end, we’ve remained fascinated with their trajectory.
