You know the age-old saying, “slow and steady wins the race”? Well, Alex Leon and Alex Sandler, of Mexican brand Hermanos Kumori, don’t subscribe to that mentality. The young duo — both in their early twenties — grew up in a digital era where everything is within reach, which perhaps explains their tendency to think big. Unhindered by the fact that they were basically unknown, the duo reached out to large companies in the early stages of their career, landing collaborations with the likes of Atlética and the baseball team Diablos Rojos. It was this irreverence that initially drew us to the brand, but what really captivated us was their unique design process: The pair base their collections on stories both real and fictional, telling them through the distinct aesthetic of streetwear.
